The request from Nations Ministry: Would we be able to provide activities such as pom-poms, knitting, oil painting, punch needling, marbleizing, canvas painting, pottery, collage, basket weaving, wood projects, hot pads, etc. for 45 middle schoolers?
Four groups of 10-11 middle schoolers
Each group would have 1-2 Joy in Learning leaders and 1 Nations Ministry staff person
Leaders: Plan just ONE, 2-hour activity you can repeat for all 4 groups.
The picture above shows the gifts from Westminster/JIL last summer. We are thrilled they are able to travel to be with us again in person this summer! It has been a long time since they have been able to come to Westminster.

Joy in Learning Care Notes
"Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul and healthy for the body."  - Proverbs 16:24 (NLT)
We are excited to reintroduce Joy in Learning’s Care Notes, now with a new name.
Since January, this dedicated group has been busy spreading encouragement one handwritten note at a time. Over the last four months, they have penned approximately 170 cards to a wide range of recipients:
  • Rudy Kalis' prison ministry
  • WPC members in care communities
  • WPC 8th grade confirmands and their mentors
  • Hands on Mission Cockrill Elementary reading volunteers
  • WPC new members
  • WPC handbell members
Also reached out to WPC families experiencing some of life's most sacred moments, including births, baptisms, and during of sympathy.
A handwritten note is a simple but powerful reminder that someone is seen, valued, and loved. That is the heart of the Care Notes.

Bee Watering Station
In the heat of summer, bees rely on water to regulate body temperature, dilute honey for larval food, and cool the hive through evaporation. We will make shallow watering stations shaped like a flower. The flowers are on sturdy stems, ready to be placed in your garden and your friends’ gardens.
As our most important pollinators, bees provide 1/3 of the food we eat. Step up to environmental responsibility and have fun creating it.
No pottery experience needed.
Fridays, July 17, 24, and 31
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
$30.00 including all supplies
Bring your own lunch.
Led by Cass Fagan, Janice Mann and Jill Sink
Class size: Minimum 6, maximum 10 participants.
