Silent Movie Night

Come to Dewey Hall to see the classic silent comedy film Speedy, starring Harold Lloyd with live music by Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton. In the 1928 movie, Harold "Speedy" Swift (Lloyd) is an avid New York Yankees fan who gets fired from his many jobs for circumstances beyond his control. He winds up at a Yankees game when the real Babe Ruth gives Speedy a free ticket, with an additional cameo by Lou Gehrig. More info

Full-Moon Hike at

Antimony Brewing is collaborating with The Arcadian Shop on a free full-moon hike at Kennedy Park in Lenox. Those interested should arrive at The Arcadian Shop parking lot at 5:30 p.m. fully prepared with clothing appropriate to the weather, foot gear to get you up and down safely, and a flashlight or a headlamp. Messiah Sing!

Conductor James Bagwell invites any and all singers and lovers of Baroque choral music to raise their voices in popular choruses from Handel’s Messiah, including Hallelujah, accompanied by The Berkshire Bach Players. Bring your own score, buy, or borrow one of theirs, and kick off the holiday season with this magical musical tradition. To commence the symposium "British Art 1750–1919: Reflections and Futures," Olivier Meslay, the Clark Hardymon Director, and Caroline Fowler, Starr Director of Research and Academic Program, discuss on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Meslay’s experience curating British art and how that field has changed. Next Thursday, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Manton Research Center, a day-long symposium will be held on the Manton Collection of British Art. More info
