COVID-19 vaccinations for patients 12 and older
On May 12, 2021, the CDC approved the FDA emergency use order of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 12 years and older. Children’s Minnesota has been vaccinating kids 12 years and older and their families against COVID-19 at our three mass vaccine clinics in St. Paul, Minneapolis and West St. Paul. We are entering a transition phase as we work to operationalize COVID-19 vaccinations within primary care clinics for our patient families. If your patients 12 years and older are seeking vaccination, please direct them to Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector to find locations.

Children’s Minnesota’s first heart transplant patient. Read about John’s miraculous story and how he's doing almost three years later.
John’s story is one of surprises and hope. And, it all started when Nay was feeling sick at home in Togo, Africa. She was treated for malaria but then boarded a plane to visit her sister in the United States. She was still feeling sick so she went to the doctor to see what was wrong. “That’s where I learned I was seven months pregnant with John,” said Nay.

On September 2, 2018, Nay gave birth to her baby, John, at The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern and Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis. The doctors had to immediately rush John into the cardiac ICU for emergent testing and therapies to sustain his life. Read John's story here.
