It's Muddy Hutch 5K Time!
Below are details and links to visit before heading to the race on Saturday morning.- REGISTRATION: If you haven't registered yet, you can do so in person today and tomorrow at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1st. You can also register on Saturday before the race at Fun Valley from 8-9:30 a.m.
- PACKET PICK-UP: For those of you have registered, packet pick-up is available on Friday (Oct. 6) from 1-4 p.m. at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1st, and on race morning (Oct. 7) starting at 8 a.m. at Fun Valley.
- START TIMES & RACE LOCATION: Race will start at 10 a.m. with the competitive division waves (10 a.m., 10:10 a.m., 10:20 a.m.). Non-competitive division waves will start at 10:30 a.m. Waves will include 10-15 people and take off every 10 minutes until everyone is on the course. Groups - please let us know in advance if you would like to compete together in the same wave. Saturday's race will take place at Fun Valley Sports Complex, 4401 W. 4th Ave in Hutchinson.
- COURSE: View a map here. The course will be clearly marked with orange arrows. Course guides will also be stationed at each obstacle.
- OBSTACLES: A list of the obstacles can be downloaded here. They include crawling, jumping, and climbing through mud and sand.
- TIMING & AWARDS: Timer Guys are the official timers of the Muddy Hutch 5K. Each participant will be assigned a bib and a timing chip. To qualify for the overall runner award, participants must successfully conquer each obstacle. Official results will be posted at timerguys.com after the race, as well as the Muddy Hutch 5K Facebook event page.
- FINISH LINE FESTIVITIES: Enjoy various refreshments after you cross the finish line. For those participants 21 and older, you may redeem your timing chip for one beer available at the beer pavilion. During and after the race, we invite all participants and guests to enjoy the amenities of the beer pavilion. Michelob Ultra will be for sale ($2/can) as well as craft beer ($4/can). Concessions are also available. **Please note: Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed in the beer pavilion. Anyone drinking outside Fun Valley and the beer pavilion will be asked to leave.
- SPECTATORS: We invite spectators to join the fun! Public viewing areas will be available inside the ball fields at Fun Valley Sports Complex (Fields 1-6) and along the third base line on Field 7. We also invite spectators who are 21 and older to enjoy beverages and concessions that will be sold inside the beer pavilion.
