Janice Fukakusa appointed to the Order of Canada
| |
Congratulations to Janice Fukakusa C.M. (MBA '79, Hon LLD '16), who has been appointed as a member of the Order of Canada for her leadership and mentorship in banking, and for her boundless community engagement, notably in education and health care.
Among her many accomplishments and contributions, Janice has served as CFO and CAO of RBC, founding Chair of the Canada Infrastructure Bank, and she is currently the Chancellor of Ryerson University. Janice continues to have strong ties to the Schulich School of Business and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council. Read more

SRPAA Announces Two New Undergraduate Awards
| |
This past fall, the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association (SRPAA) announced two new undergraduate awards: the SRPAA Leadership Award for Black Communities and the SRPAA Leadership Award for Indigenous Communities. Through the overwhelming generosity of alumni and friends, these awards are fully funded for the next four years, and the SRPAA is now working to endow these awards permanently. Read more

| Alumni Inspire Students at MBA Winter Launch Week
| |
The incoming MBA Winter 2022 student cohort kicked off their first week at Schulich on January 6 with an inspiring alumni panel moderated by Dean Detlev Zwick. The panel featured Eva Lau (MBA ‘05), Founding Partner, Two Small Fish Ventures; Prafulla Metaparti (IMBA ’07), Senior Vice President, Citibank (Hong Kong); Dean’s International Advisory Council, and Jeremy Oxley (MBA ’06), Vice President, Marketing and Ecommerce, Danone Inc. who shared their career insights and wisdom. Students appreciated their advice about getting involved with extracurricular activities, being coachable, the value of peer networking and thinking holistically to problem solve.
Following the Alumni Leaders Panel, more than 20 alumni participated at Professor Holzinger’s Skills for Leadership Social Hour with our news students on January 9th. Thank you to our alumni for demonstrating the strength of the Schulich Global Alumni Network.
