Hi Student,
34 states, as well as many cities and towns, have elections coming up in early November.
Students who are U.S. citizens are permitted to register to vote either at their permanent address or at their campus address—it’s your choice. Whichever you choose, your vote can make a big difference in local elections because turnout is lower.
Take a few minutes now to decide whether to vote at your local address or your permanent address, check out the candidates or ballot questions this cycle, and make a plan to vote.
Use Tufts TurboVote for free to check if there is a local election coming up for you, register to vote, update your registration, and get election deadline reminders. If you need election assistance (e.g., getting a mail-in ballot notarized, etc.), feel free to get in touch with us. Note that many states have deadlines to register to vote or to request a mail-in ballot over the next few days, so make a plan today.
