Fall Festival Returns!

After a two year COVID hiatus, we are very excited to announce that our FREE fall fest is BACK!

The Waterwise Garden and Pumpkin Fest, formerly known as the Landscape and Water Conservation Festival, will be on Saturday, October 1, 10am – 2pm at the Waterwise Community Center.

This year will feature lots of the classic favorites plus NEW things to explore and learn. Bring the little ones in your life for free face painting, kids' activities and a bounce house! Stay for the free speakers sharing water conservation tips and information, chat with our exhibitors, buy some drought tolerant plants at our plant sale, and so much more.

Haven't picked up your pumpkin this year? We have you covered. Pumpkins will be available for sale as well as our annual favorite craft, pumpkin succulent centerpieces. Supplies are limited so get here early!

Enjoy music, food from La Bufadora food truck, and a fun time with friends and family all while learning more tricks and treats to make your home and garden more waterwise. We can't wait to see you!

New Hours for Compost Giveaway

Compost Giveaway is canceled on September 3rd for the Labor Day holiday, but when we return on September 17, beat the heat during our new hours from 7am to 10am. More info at: cbwcd.org/mulch

Field Trips Open for Sign-ups - 9/7!

It's that time of year again! For the 2022-23 school year, we're excited to offer both our virtual and in-person field trip options. As always, bus reimbursements for schools in our service area are available if attending in-person. Sign-ups begin 9/7. We look forward to seeing you!

Desert Marigold

Looking for a pop of color for your for your waterwise landscape? Consider adding Desert Marigold. This perennial needs little water and loves the sun. It looks great along paths and rocky patches with a low and spreading habit, growing 12-18 in. tall, 24-30 in. across. Though individual plants are short lived, they often come back from seed in the garden as long as the mulch isn't too deep.
