Welcome back to Navigate Updates!
|
Since the start of the Fall 2024 semester, a record number of appointments have been scheduled, attended, and recorded in Navigate. Since August 19, over 20,000 appointments have been created in Navigate for over 11, 000 unique students. This fall also marks the first time colleges sent Milestone Advising (MAP) communication through Navigate, in accordance with the AASC-approved Advising Campaign Calendar.
Below you'll see updates on Activate, the Navigate U website, and the Navigate platform, including the automated integration of PeopleSoft notes and an added meeting format.

ACTIVATE PROJECT: FUNCTIONAL 4-YEAR DEGREE PLANS |
Efforts are underway to ensure that students can complete their degrees in fours years. These relevant and effective plans are crucial for guiding students along their academic journey, facilitating the U's smooth transition into a new catalogue system (Course Dog), and ensuring timely completion for more students. The deadline for plans is January 20, 2025.

Walter Prado, Academic Advisor in Undergraduate Academic Services in the David Eccles School of Business, is recognized as an exemplary user of Navigate. Since the start of the fall semester, Walter has saved more appointment notes in Navigate than any other user! Walter's detailed notes help the institution better understand the student experience.
We appreciate your support of students through your use of Navigate, Walter!

In bittersweet news, Mike Martineau, Senior Director of Analytics Innovation in Undergraduate Studies, recently accepted a position at Western Governors University. Mike was integral to the implementation of Navigate and his colleagues will greatly miss him. Luckily for our students, Mike will still teach as an Adjust Professor in the Department of Economics.
Congratulations on this new opportunity, Mike!

The Navigate U website was recently updated with a refreshed homepage; a Login tab with the staff and student site links; and a Projects tab outlining the Activate topics. We also created a feedback link for anyone to provide input on the Navigate U approach or Navigate software.

PEOPLESOFT NOTES LOADED NIGHTLY |
Student notes saved in PeopleSoft are now loaded to the Student Profile in Navigate on a nightly basis. On the History tab, the uploaded PeopleSoft notes are labeled as "Note Added" and include:
|
- Name of the user who saved the note
- Date saved in PeopleSoft
- Note reason
- Body of the note
- Any attachments
|
To view only PeopleSoft notes, click the drop-down next to View As and select the "Notes about Student" option. As a reminder, in order for a hold to be lifted or priority registration to be given, notes must be saved in PeopleSoft. In order for an appointment to be marked as attended in Navigate, Appointment Summaries must be saved in Navigate. For more information, click the link below.

NEW MEETING TYPE: EMAIL FORMAT |
Email is now listed as a Meeting Type option for Report on Appointment notes saved. As discussed in this guide, users should click Report on Appointment from the Student Profile to load notes if the appointment was scheduled through another system, to record a drop-in session, or to record an asynchronous interaction.
The email format is not available when loading availability and appears as an option only when clicking Report on Appointment from the Student Profile.
