Get to Know the Tatkon Center for New Students
Recently renamed, the Tatkon Center for New Students is committed to serving as a resource center for new students across campus. From welcoming Cornellians and their families at New Student Orientation in the Fall and Spring, to hosting programs that support students in their transition and development, to cross-campus collaboration, we aim to inspire students and guide them through a transformational college experience.
The Tatkon Center for New Students is located in the Robert Purcell Community Center (RPCC) room 201, and located in RPCC 101 is the programming space and study lounge, open from 3 – 11 PM Sunday – Thursday. Tatkon Peer Leaders staff the welcome desk during open hours and are a group of paid students from across disciplines, interests, and areas of the Cornell community. Be sure to follow the Tatkon Center on Instagram as it continues to grow into a hub for new students to connect with programs, events, and resources across campus.

Help Keep Our Campus Community Healthy COVID is still present and winter weather brings about even more potential for illness. If you become ill, speak with your supervisor about options to stay out of circulation. As a reminder, all members of the Cornell community – students, staff, and faculty – are expected to self-report positive COVID test results through Cornell's Daily Check. Doing so prompts several informational emails to the individual who tests positive.
