Teacher of the Month - April 2026
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Desiree Ryan is a passionate educator with over a decade of experience in public education and service, a Harding Charter Preparatory District Teacher of the Year, and interventionist/special education teacher at Harding Charter Preparatory Middle School at Independence.
Desiree takes pride in creating engaging and innovative learning environments that inspire and challenge her students and is committed to fostering academic growth and achieving impactful results that shift the trajectories of children’s lives and expand their opportunities.
Desiree finds great joy in teaching and has an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Volunteer Service - Memorial Marathon - Hydration Station Ron Stakem and Ron Suttles received their first announcement about the upcoming OKC Memorial Marathon and our Hydration Station project at mile marker 17, is the same location as last year. Mark your calendars now for April 26, 2026 from 6 am to 1:00pm (NEW TIME) and let one or both of us know you have signed up. Ron Stakem Ron Suttles

All hydration station volunteers (our station and all the others) are to register by using the same group or organization name “20Water26”. During registration you will be asked for that group name twice, in different places in the registration process called "password" or "code." The second time when you enter “20Water26” a dropdown list of all the stations will appear; scroll down and select hydration station 17 Rotary.
Ask a Rotarian (or other) friend to join you and register; let us know too. Ask us any questions you may have. And now is the time to make any suggestions.
