Dissertation Research Awards Applications Open
The Center of Health and Happiness is currently accepting applications for our Annual Dissertation Research Awards, which assist Harvard doctoral students with research costs. Research must be relevant to the Center’s mission of building a rigorous and interdisciplinary science of positive health, happiness, and well-being with a focus on health equity, and translating the science to influence practice and policy. Awards of up to $2,500 will be given. Applications are due on or before Friday, February 23^rd. Learn more and apply here.

Innovations in Positive Health Grant Funding

The Center of Health and Happiness is pleased to announce that it is now accepting proposals from Harvard University faculty, research scientists, and postdoctoral fellows for Innovations in Positive Health pilot grant funding. The interdisciplinary science of Positive Health encompasses the study of physical, mental, and social factors that contribute to overall well-being and happiness. Awards of $10,000- $20,000 will be given. Applications are due on Monday, April 15^th. Learn more and apply here.

This seminar, titled "Towards Equitable Design: What We Know and Need to Address about Mental Health Prevention and Promotion among #blackboysandmen," will explore the current state of mental health literature from a digital equity and intervention lens. Facts, fakes, and fascism: On mpox and misinformation

Join Kai Kupferschmidt, a journalist at Science Magazine, for a discussion about misinformation and how it affected the mpox crisis. This event is presented in collaboration with the Stanford Health Equity Media Fellowship and the Harvard Chan School’s Health Communication Concentration. Lunch will be served.

SBS DIB Committee: Screening and Discussion of One River, Many Relations

Please join the second event of the SBS Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee's 2023-2024 film screening series, which seeks to highlight Native voices and stories. The one-hour screening of One River Many Relations will be followed by an optional 30-minute, facilitated discussion on the issues raised by the film. "One River Many Relations explores the Athabasca Oil Sands from a marginalized and often silenced perspective: Communities that live downstream. The film is a collaborative community effort featuring interviews with local Cree, Dene, and Métis members from Fort Chipewyan. It gets to the heart of their concerns for their families, traditional ways, and territories as the Oil Sands encroach closer and closer."
