October 2026 Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Chris Pratt has devoted 25 years to education, including 23 years of service to ASTEC Charter Schools where he currently teaches 12th-grade English and World Mythology and has taught a wide range of courses across grades 6–12, helping scholars of varied abilities develop confidence as readers, writers, and thinkers. Mr. Pratt created ASTEC’s World Mythology curriculum an interdisciplinary course that connects literature with art, history, geography, philosophy, science, and technology, and has become one of the school’s most popular electives.
As Senior Class Sponsor, Mr. Pratt supports scholars through graduation and other milestones and provides individualized guidance on college and scholarship essays, including classroom essays through which 10 scholars have earned competitive $2,000 scholarships. His dedication to challenging, encouraging, and respecting scholars has helped them recognize their potential and prepare for life beyond high school.
