And on every street corner you hear...
We are looking for volunteers to assist with ringing bells at our iconic Red Kettles! We need them every day all over Davidson and surrounding counties through Christmas Eve. You don't have to stay there all day, you can do 2 to 4 hour shifts if it fits your schedule better! We even have Kettles downtown starting Dec. 1 that you can ring for an hour over your lunch break!
Our Corps churches depend on these donations to fund their yearly programs, such as, youth music programs, homework help programs, senior citizen lunches and bingo, and feeding programs! We need as many kettles as possible active so that they can continue to offer these services to their neighborhoods!
Please email me and let me know where would be the most convienent for you or your group!
Forgotten Angel Kickoff Even
The Nashville Salvation Army will host its annual “Forgotten Angels” event 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1st at the Millennium Maxwell Hotel Grand Ballroom, 2025 Rosa L Parks Blvd, Nashville, TN 37228. The reception style event will celebrate the community support, educate its guests about its “Forgotten Angels” program, serve as the official Kick-off for their “Downtown Red Kettle” campaign, and lastly be the first public announcement to the general public of their 125th Anniversary of service to the Nashville Community. Also featured on the exciting program is a special musical performance by songwriter, author and screenwriter Jimmy Wayne. Wayne’s original movie, “Paper Angels,” that premiered on the UP Network this month, was inspired by his book of the same name, that shares his personal story as a boy in need who experienced The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program first-hand.
The event is free, so if you are interested in attending please email Gerald_Brown@uss.salvationarmy.org to RSVP!
