Campus vaccine clinic on May 18
Campus vaccine clinic on May 18
Friday, May 14, 2021
With dedication and strong spirit from the entire Bryant community, this week we reached our goal of completing a full academic year on campus. Thanks to everyone who worked together to make this possible for our students.
The Bryant community’s commitment continued to help keep our positivity rate declining as more students, faculty and staff become fully vaccinated. On Tuesday, May 18, there is a campus vaccine clinic for all members of the community, including employee family members age 12 and above. If you have not yet been vaccinated, get the shot now so that in the fall we can all get back to the full campus experience we miss. (Watch video)
Following yesterday’s CDC announcement that those who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks in public, today RI Governor McKee announced that starting May 18 Rhode Islanders who are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear masks indoors or outdoors. Bryant continues to follow best practices and guidance from health experts, and our campus protocols will align with the new State standards effective May 18.
By adapting to new challenges and sharing a commitment to health and safety, Bryant became one of the few colleges and universities in the nation to complete the year without interruption to in-person classes and with nearly full (94%) residency. Now we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments and resilience of our classes of 2020 and 2021 at Commencement ceremonies May 20-23. Bryant is the only college or university in RI with in-person Commencements and guests on campus.
This has been a year like no other and a year we can all take pride in. As students complete their final exams and depart from campus, we will no longer report testing data through this weekly newsletter. We wish everyone a restful, reflective and rewarding summer and will continue to keep the community well informed with details for the 2021-2022 academic year ahead.
Commencement Weekend
The University’s Commencement Weekend is the culmination of Bryant’s strong commitment to preserving the in-person campus experience. We are pleased to celebrate the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 graduates and our seven distinguished honorary degree recipients, including industry and higher education leaders and heroes on the front line of the pandemic.
If you are not joining us in person, find links to the livestream ceremonies and the Commencement program books here. Shortly after each ceremony ends, the livestream will be superseded by the event recording.
Planning for 2021-22
As a student-centered residential college dedicated to the growth and success of each individual student, Bryant University has announced plans to fully open its campus on June 1, 2021, with all employees on site. A campus-wide committee will work throughout the summer to plan for fall opening September 4-6. Find the full academic calendar for 2021-22 here.
