One-Day Symposium Event

Translational Medicine Day is a one-day symposium that strives to outline the importance of translating benchtop discoveries to a clinical setting and fostering discussion about cutting-edge developments in the field. The goal of the event is to highlight advancements in the field of translational medicine, and inspire the next generation of biomedical engineers, scientists, and doctors. It will bring together students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and more. Hosted by Biomedical Engineering Society at UCSD.


Are you interested in research? Come out to the Research Mixer to hear from a diverse group of labs!

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear more about the kind of incredible work being done here on campus! Representatives from Salk, Chemistry, Radiology, and Cognitive Science research labs (and more!) will be there to present their work at this fair-style event. Be sure to bring questions and friends! Enjoy the mixer and free food will be provided!

BioScholars and Triton Consulting Group invite you to participate in the 2019 Annual Biotechnology Case Consulting Competition (BioTechathalon). Participating in this biotech-business hackathon competition is a fun learning experience that gives students the opportunity to engage in answering an interesting, real-life challenge that a biotech company might face. For this interdisciplinary competition, we encourage you to form diverse teams and show off your mad skills in a race to win Cash Prizes! The link to register will be open through March 18, 2019. NEW SP19 Opportunity: Medical School Prep 101 (FMPH 198)

Are you a first year student interested in pre-med? The application to apply for FMPH 198: Directed Group Study - Medical School Prep 101 (1 unit - P/NP Grading) for spring quarter is now open!
This course is designed for 1st year students (freshman) who are interested in pursuing medicine and becoming physicians. Learn what it takes to prepare for medical school as well as what it takes to be a competitive applicant. We’ll cover everything from academic requirements, timeline and MCAT to obtaining relevant experiences (i.e. healthcare, service, leadership, and research), letters of evaluation, the 15 core competencies and more!
Requirements:
• Entered UCSD in FA18 as a 1st year freshman student
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Be available Wednesdays from 2-3:20pm during spring
quarter

Biocom’s Life Science Young Leaders (LSYL) Series is a quarterly networking and educational event series that provides Biocom members between the ages of 21 and 39 the opportunity to network with like-minded peers to grow both professionally and personally. Hosted by Biocom, the goal of LSYL is to foster valuable conversations while building relationships between young life science professionals representing the next wave of leadership in California. This event series is intended to provide a casual atmosphere for individuals currently working in the life science field to advance their industry leadership, knowledge, and personal and professional networks.
