Zach Stumbo
After 10 years of working in rural schools, Zach Stumbo entered UT’s cultural studies program. As part of the Theory and Practice in Teacher Education program, Stumbo was able to combine his experience in the classroom with his social justice and equity interests. He discovered a lack of research on the experiences of married LGBT teachers in the US, and the foundation for his own research began to take shape.

UT certifies more students to use Bloomberg terminals than any other institution in the world, according to the financial data vendor. An average of 1,200 students a year in the Haslam College of Business earn a Bloomberg Market Concepts certification, which allows them to use the college’s 20 terminals.
A nine-axis robot in the hands-on innovation lab, better known as the Fab Lab.
Students across the college and university are working with School of Architecture assistant professor Marshall Prado in the first-ever Computational Design and Robotic Fabrication seminar. Prado is also collaborating with his students on a research-driven design/build project, the “Filament Tower.”
UT students reimagine swim resistance training with newly licensed technology.
A team of recent UT graduates stand to revolutionize competitive swimming training with the invention of a swim resistance device, newly licensed with the assistance of UTRF. UT swim coaches were debating new methods and equipment for resistance training when someone suggested contacting the MABE department with the predicament.
