Congratulations to our 28 new Masters of Public Health graduates! At Vanderbilt University Medical School Commencement's on May 10, MPH Program Director Christiane Roumie joined VUSM Dean Jeff Balser to confer hoods and degrees to 3 students in the Global Health track, 13 in Epidemiology, and 4 Health Policy students. 

Afterward, MPH students, faculty, friends and family gathered for a celebratory reception at 2525 West End.

This spring, the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center named five people from the Vanderbilt community as recipients of its annual awards. The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center Leadership Award honors an undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates leadership in activities that contribute to the achievements, interests and goals of women or that promote gender equity. This year, one of the two students recognized with the Leadership Award is recent MPH graduate Anjola-Oluwa Ajayi. 

Current MPH student Emma Bradley, MD, and recent graduates Alison Carroll, MD, MPH, and Joey Starnes, MD, MPH, shared their work at the Vanderbilt Symposium on Implementation Research in the Learning Health System on May 14, 2024. The event provides a forum for research, clinical, and operational departments to gain insights, practical knowledge, and connections in conducting research that is integrated into clinical care to transform health care delivery and improve patient outcomes.

Muktar Aliyu, MD, DrPH, MPH, and VIGH awarded $1.2M grant to develop research degree program in northern Nigeria

MPH alumnus L. Dupree Hatch III, MD, MPH has been recognized by the 2024 School of Medicine Faculty Awards for Extraordinary Performance of Clinical Services. Dr. Hatch received the Mildred T. Stahlman Award for Innovation in Clinical Care.

MPH faculty Carolyn Audet, PhD, MSc to lead a study team funded by a 5-year $2.8 million grant to expand healer-initiated HIV testing and linkage to care in South Africa.
