The implementation of Oracle Cloud is planned to begin in January 2027, with a targeted go-live date in January 2029. It will replace Oracle e-Business Suite and My Personal Information.
As we are gearing up for the Oracle Cloud implementation, you might be wondering “What exactly does Oracle Cloud include?”
A fully integrated platform |
The Oracle Cloud platform brings several major functions into a single, connected ecosystem under the umbrellas of finance, human resources and reporting. The following modules are included in our Oracle Cloud contract:
Finance
-
Enterprise Performance Management (EPM – planning & budget)
- Enterprise Data Management (chart of accounts management & governance)
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP – core finance)
- Risk Management (segregation of duties, monitors and detects transaction errors or fraud)
- Procurement (e-procurement, catalogs, contracts, requisitions, sourcing, RFPs, RFIs, etc.)
- Document Recognition
- Human Capital Management (HCM – onboarding; person & assignment data; job, position & organizational structures; employee lifecycle; workforce structures (job/job families); self-service for managers & employees)
- Payroll & Labor Distribution
- Recruitment (job requisitions & postings, applicant tracking, interview management, offer management)
- Talent Management (performance management; compensation planning)
- Time & Labor (time tracking for hourly employees)
- Workforce Compensation (manages compensation plans)
- Learning (course and program management)
-
HR Help Desk (issue tracking system)
- In app operational (day-to-day) reporting
- Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) analytical reporting
We have some work to do! Because several of these functions are currently handled by third-party systems, we will be evaluating the capabilities of Oracle Cloud to ensure it meets our needs and may retire some systems in addition to Oracle e-Business Suite. Potentially retiring systems to be replaced by Oracle Cloud include:
| Current system | Potentially replaced with: |
|---|
| Bobcat Buy | Procurement module | | Concur | Expense management module | | PeopleAdmin | Recruiting/HR module | | Workforce | Time & Labor module | |
Payroll Expense Distribution System (PEDS) | Labor distribution module |
Oracle Cloud also introduces some net new capabilities, including contract management and role-based security.
At several points during the readiness and implementation phases, you may be asked to help with these assessments, contribute your thoughts on current processes, pain points and potential improvements, and to test the new platforms and functionality. Your perspective is essential, and we look forward to collaborating with you!
During the readiness phase, our focus is on preparing for implementation—aligning processes, defining requirements, and ensuring we are ready to take full advantage of these capabilities.
A note on terminology: Oracle Cloud’s ERP refers only to financial functions rather than the whole system, which is how we will use the term from now on. We will use Oracle Cloud or “enterprise system” to refer to the platform overall. For a list of key terms and acronyms related to this program, visit the AMP Terms and Acronyms Glossary.
