Workplace Wellness Scan

As a Champion, part of your role is to identify well-being needs in your department. This can be done through having conversations with your colleagues or surveying your department. The WashU Well-being team has created an assessment tool that will help you identify your department's well-being needs. The scan consists of quantitative and qualitative questions that are based on the 8ight Ways to Wellness.
Gathering data from an anonymous survey might help you identify well-being needs that would not have been identified otherwise. See below for the easy steps on how to administer the Workplace Wellness Scan.
Steps to Administer the Workplace Wellness Scan
  1. Contact the HR Well-being Team to let me know you are interested in administering the scan.
  2. Send out this email template with the link to the survey (see preview).
  3. Once the data are collected, I analyze the results and schedule a time to meet with you to discuss your results and create a strategy.
If this is something you would like to learn more about, please reach out to me with any questions.

Participate in Active Transportation Month

April is the first of two Active Transportation Months (ATM) at Washington University. The goal of ATM is to motivate staff, faculty and students to kick the car habit and try active, low-carbon means of transportation. If you cannot imagine going car-free, consider carpooling or budgeting time to try transit one or two days during the month. If you are an everyday cyclist, try and commit to going grocery shopping or getting to and from the laundromat on two wheels – try challenging yourself to use sustainable transportation within a 3-mile radius of your home. Whatever your commitment to active transportation is today, we ask that you step it up during the month of April!

HR Well-being is an employee health initiative that, in partnership with Washington University experts, offers opportunities for employees to improve their physical and emotional well-being. This initiative focuses on developing evidence-based programs and making personal connections to provide employees with valuable and fun experiences that improve their health. We aim to foster a culture that prioritizes employee health and well-being as integral to the mission of teaching, research, and patient care, and create an environment where the healthier choice is the easiest choice; where employees are empowered to choose wellness.
WashU Wellness Champions help us understand the needs within different work environments, promote the importance of personal health, and encourage their coworkers to engage in wellness program offerings.
