CELEBRATING RESIDENT APPRECIATION WEEK
We might be biased, but we think Warm Hearth residents are second to none! We will be celebrating Resident Appreciation Week September 7-11 with special deliveries to residents throughout the week.
FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT
It would be impossible to provide the programs, resources and care for our seniors without the generous support of our staff, residents, donors and community partners. Each of you plays a vital role in helping our neighbors, and we truly appreciate all you do to help make a difference.  Our 2019 Annual Report highlights various programs and the contributions you make. Thank you for all the ways you help to support our mission!

THANKS AND FAREWELL TO FERNE MOSCHELLA

After more than 20 years of dedicated service to Warm Hearth Village, Ferne Moschella will hand over the reins to Brad Dalton, the incoming President and CEO on September 21. Ferne has remained faithful to Dr. Wybe Kroontje's founding vision for Warm Hearth and has led the organization onward as it has continued to grow and mature. We are grateful for the steadfast leadership and guidance, Ferne has provided over the last two decades, and we wish her much love and happiness in her retirement.

WARM HEARTH NAMED ONE OF THE NRV'S BEST PLACES TO WORK
Warm Hearth Village was recently named one of the Best Places To Work in Montgomery County by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. The Best Places to Work program was developed by the Chamber and the NRV Society of Human Resource Managers as a way to recognize local employers that keep abreast of workplace trends and support employees to create positive work environments. This is the third year in a row we've made the list. We are so proud and grateful to all our employees who make this honor possible!
VIRTUAL WINE TASTINGS
Did you know that many wineries have adapted to the present circumstances and now offer online tastings on Facebook, Instagram and Zoom? Many of these virtual events are free, and participants can type questions in real-time during the tasting. Events can be formal or casual, and some even feature cooking demos. Some offer bookings for private, custom tastings for you and your friends. As wine tastings continue online, you can watch along whenever the urge for Happy Hour strikes. Check out the list of virtual tastings in Napa, Sonoma and Washington State as a terrific way to introduce yourself to new wines. After finding the wine you would like to try, head on down to the Vintage Cellar or Kroger and pick up your bottles to sip along with the video. Cheers!

MILLSTONE KITCHEN TO PROVIDE WEEKLY MEALS TO SENIORS IN NEED

The Warm Hearth Foundation has partnered with Millstone Kitchen to provide a prepared meal each week to low-income seniors at Warm Hearth Village. Millstone Kitchen is a shared-use commercial kitchen operated by the nonprofit Live Work Eat Gather, Inc. Local caterers HazelBea Catering and On-Site Culinary utilize the kitchen to prepare fresh meals for individuals in the community who rely largely on non-perishable items. The meals are packaged in microwave-safe containers and delivered every Thursday to residents in the Trolinger and New River House apartments. In total, approximately 150 residents receive these meals every week. For more information about the Warm Hearth Foundation and its programs, please click here.

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT

Just in time for Medicare Open Enrollment, which begins October 15, the National Council on Aging released a new educational tool for eligible individuals called My Medicare Matters. Use it to simplify the process of finding a Medicare plan that fits your needs by clicking here.
ASSISTED LIVING LEVEL 2 RESIDENCES AVAILABLE NOW
In recent months, we have all had to rethink the way we live, work and interact with one another. At Warm Hearth Village, we are deeply committed to maintaining the health, safety and well-being of our residents. We value and prioritize connection and engagement, which are so crucial now more than ever. Above all, we offer love, security and a safe place to call home.

We are still taking admissions with a thorough and detailed screening process to keep all members of our community safe. We are here for you now, when you need us the most. While we have rooms available today, they won’t stay that way for long. Contact Linda Kirkner at (540) 443-3415 or lkirkner@warmhearth.org to learn more.

WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S
The world may look a little different right now, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to ending Alzheimer’s. This year, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is everywhere — on every sidewalk, track and trail.

We won’t have a large in-person gathering — instead, we invite you to walk safely in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. We are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and dementia. Click here to register or donate.
