STORY HOUR/HAPPY HOUR
Skip and Carole Jubb moved to Blacksburg in 1989. Skip, an entomologist, worked in the College of Agriculture in administration, and Carole, a home economist, was active in Virginia Tech and local activities. They liked to hike and when they moved to Tucon, AZ in 2006, they enjoyed the many hiking trails in the area. While hiking the Grand Canyon was NOT on their “bucket List”, it was on the bucket list of their friends who were about to turn 80! The pressure was on! How could these two 70-year-olds deny their 80-year-old friends! The rest is history! They came back to Blacksburg two years ago and moved to Woods Edge. Come and learn about how they trained and completed the journey to the bottom of the Canyon and back up to the top.
