As you enjoy Halloween festivities, do your part to uplift the safety and wellbeing of our campus community.
Making thoughtful choices
Homecoming is a fun and memorable time, with many events and activities. We look forward to seeing you at the events outlined above! There's a lot to do this weekend, so it's helpful to pace yourself and take breaks. To keep Homecoming fun and safe, students who choose to drink should do so in moderation.
Be conscientious in choosing a costume
If you’re dressing up this Halloween, be mindful of the diverse cultures and identities that make up our community. Choose costumes thoughtfully to ensure your fun doesn’t come at the expense of others — let’s celebrate in a way that’s creative, inclusive, and respectful to everyone.
Consent is an affirmative process
Consent should be clear, mutual, and freely given—every time. Alcohol and other substances can impact someone’s ability to give or understand consent. Taking care of one another means honoring boundaries and speaking up when something feels off.
Jumbos look out for one another.
At Tufts, we take care of each other. Look out for the people around you and step in if you think someone might need help. It's important to know that Tufts has a Call for Help policy, which means that students won't face disciplinary violations related to alcohol or substance use if they seek medical attention for themselves or their friends. This policy also applies to students reporting sexual misconduct. Remember, there are many resources available to help, including the Residential Life staff in your hall, the TUPD emergency line (617-627-6911), or any other emergency service (911).
Accessing the rooftop of a University building is strictly prohibited
Accessing rooftops and other restricted areas is dangerous and strictly prohibited. Public Safety will increase vigilance throughout campus during Halloween.
