PONY CLUB AUSTRALIA AWARDS 

PCA COACH OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Wendy Cummings, Chief Club Coach at Serpentine Horse & Pony Club, on being awarded Pony Club Australia Coach of the Year.
Wendy Cummings has held the position of Chief Club Coach for 4 years. Wendy not only carries out the Chief Club Coach duties, she also coaches at the rallies as well as being the driving force behind the Southern Eventing Squad.
Wendy promotes the PCAWA syllabus implementation and plays an important role in sharing the load with the C Certificate Co-ordinator and co-ordinates and provides assessments for C* Certificate candidates.
With her extensive experience and coaching background, she coaches regularly in dressage, show-jumping and cross country as required. The feedback from parents and members is always how high a standard this is. 

PONY CLUB WA TENT PEGGING CUP

The Inaugural Pony Club WA Tent Pegging Cup is being held on the 15th October 2017 at Walliston Riding and Pony Club. 

With individual, pairs and teams classes on offer, there is something for everyone to have a go at!

DSR INDUSTRY COURSES

ASC Presenter/Facilitator Training Course
This free course is suitable to anyone within the sport and recreation industry aiming to develop skills in presenting and facilitating. 

Participants will learn how to; plan and review training, use a range of teaching methods and aids and conduct a practical session.
6-9pm, Wednesday’s 18 and 25 October 2017
Sport and Recreation (WA), 246 Vincent Street, Leederville
Managing People in Sport and Recreation Environments Course
This free course is suitable to anyone in the sport and recreation industry aiming to increase their knowledge and capacity of managing people.
The course is designed to equip participants with the skills to interact effectively with people in most situations in sport and recreation.
6-9pm, Wednesday’s 18 and 25 October 2017

ASC Assessor Training Course
This free course is suitable to assessors whom would like to improve knowledge and skills in planning the assessment process, assessing competence, developing assessment tools and reviewing and validating assessments.

2017 GOOD SPORTS AWARDS

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! 

This is our opportunity to recognise and celebrate you! The inspiring local sporting clubs across Australia who are part of the Good Sports network – a team of nearly 8,000 clubs committed to building healthier, more family-friendly club communities
There are six Good Sports Awards categories

Good Sports Club of the Year
This award goes to a Good Sports club who has inspired positive change by building a healthier, more family-friendly club where everyone feels welcome. The state and territory winners will receive $1000 for their clubs and will be the finalists for the national award. The national winner will receive an additional $2000 for their club.

Good Sports Club Champion of the Year
This award recognises a club volunteer who is the beating heart of their club. This person makes their club stronger and more family-friendly by going above and beyond the usual undertakings of a volunteer. The winner of this award will receive a $1000 travel voucher.

Good Sports Healthy Eating Club of the Year
This award goes to a club who has inspired healthy change by providing and promoting healthy food and drink options within their club. The winner of this award will receive $1000 for their club.

Good Sports Healthy Minds Club of the Year
This award goes to a club who has inspired positive change by promoting mental health awareness to strengthen their club community. The winner of this award will receive $1000 for their club.

nib foundation Good Sports Junior Club of the Year
This award recognises a club who has inspired positive change by creating a safer place for juniors to play sport by focusing on spectator behaviour, nutrition and alcohol. The winner of this award will receive $1000 for their club.

Good Sports Leadership in Sport Award
This award recognises an organisation that continues to shape positive attitudes towards health and wellbeing in community sport.

As the year winds down, we are back with one of Pony Club WA's most prestigious awards! In collaboration with Healthway, we bring you the Pony Club WA Healthy Canteen of the Year award!

JUNIOR WHIP SCHOOLS

CARRIAGE DRIVING
Ever wanted to try carriage driving?
The Australian Carriage Driving Society are looking to hold two junior whip schools for first time drivers during the summer school holidays. The Schools will include learning to fit the harness, attach the vehicle and drive a simple dressage test, a cones course and marathon object with the assistance of a seasoned driver. This would be a great inclusion for K candidates or anyone wanting to try something new.  The Society is also more than happy to provide demonstrations upon request for rallies and camps.

Swan Valley Horse & Pony Club Member Nikita Mawhirt qualifies for the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games (YOG) having finished as the top ranked Oceania female athlete at the YOG Continental qualifier in Gotemba, Japan.
