A group from CONHI recently attended the National League for Nursing Education Summit in Washington DC. The theme this year was "Extraordinary Nurse Educators Leading in Extraordinary Times". The annual conference highlights advances in nursing education and innovation and is well-attended by influential nurses, who guide our educational principles.
UTA faculty had two podium presentations: Dr. Leslie Jennings presented "Comparing First Semester Academic Outcomes Between Two BSN Admission Routes" on Friday and Jennifer Roye, Dr. Jessica Smith, and Dr. Melynda Hutchings presented "Project SOAR: Virtual Simulation to Support Emergent Rural Obstetric Care" on Saturday. Dr. Kyra Brown and Ashlee Hansen-Bell were also co-developers on the SOAR project but were unable to attend the Summit.
Thanks to CONHI and the Center for Rural Nursing for their support to attend and share our accomplishments from our program.
