AGE+ at the Housing Oregon 2026 Conference
|
AGE+ was proud to contribute to this year’s Housing Oregon 2026 Conference. We shared our experience in housing development, policy, and innovation and discussed the future of affordable housing.
Our CEO, Stephanie Hooper, moderated a session called The Latest Advancements in Older Adult Affordable Housing. The session covered Oregon’s new Older Adult Housing Program, including recent laws, funding, technical help, and building requirements. Presenters gave examples of how these resources can help communities turn ideas into real projects.
Stephanie also joined Oregon Housing and Community Service’s first factory-produced housing cohort, where she shared AGE+’s insights on modular housing and discussed the potential for factory-produced housing in Oregon. Our successful hands-on experience allowed us to bring a practical perspective to these important conversations.

Expanding Digital Support in Umatilla County
|
AGE+ received a $60,000 grant from the State Library of Oregon to expand our digital literacy work with older adults in communities around Umatilla County.
Building on our work in Stanfield, the project will extend digital skills education and individualized technology support to more older adults in the area, including Milton-Freewater, Helix, and Athena. Working with local libraries and community partners, AGE+ helps learners build the skills they need to stay connected, access health care and community resources, and navigate an increasingly digital world.
The project also creates opportunities for local youth to participate as classroom assistants, building connections and learning across generations.

| Save the Date for the 2027 Ageless Awards
|
Join us on Wednesday, April 21, for the Ageless Awards, held both virtually and in person in Portland, as we honor Oregonians 75+ whose service and generosity have made a lasting difference in their communities.
The Ageless Awards celebrate individuals for a lifetime of giving back and for the meaningful ways they enrich Oregon today. They lead, mentor, and make an impact in the lives of others. Each year, we are privileged to hear their stories and acknowledge how they support their communities and motivate others to do the same.
Mark your calendars and be part of this well-loved community tradition! Learn more about the Ageless Awards here.

The Work of Shared Future Oregon is Underway
|
On September 17, people from throughout the state came together to officially kick off Shared Future Oregon. Participants connected around key priorities identified through public engagement and launched nine workgroups to develop strategies and solutions. These groups have now begun meeting and will present recommendations for a Multi-Sector Plan for Aging framework by late spring 2027.
Shared Future Oregon is being built by Oregonians, for Oregon. It will take all of us to create a plan that reflects the diversity of people and experiences statewide. AGE+ makes presentations to groups and organizations to share more about the work and invite additional perspectives into the process, with a particular interest in connecting with groups representing different regions, cultures, and communities.
If you represent a group or organization and would like to learn more or talk about how your perspective should be included, contact admin@ageplus.org.
