STEM Scholarship and Fellowship Opportunities Information Session! |
Do you want to learn about the different types of scholarships, fellowships, and research opportunities for students in STEM? Come to the Office of Scholar Development's information session on Tuesday, October 22, at 12 noon in Mayer Campus Center Room 012 to hear more. Food will be served! Majors Month 2024 is meant to support every student at Tufts who is deciding on a primary major as well as potential secondary majors and/or minors. We will be offering events and workshops to help you understand the major declaration process, explore majors and minors offered at Tufts, and think critically about how your degree will serve you after graduation in academic or professional opportunities. Majors Month is an excellent opportunity for you to engage with faculty and departments across all schools, as well as with the many offices and resources that can support you as you explore academic and co-curricular learning opportunities while at Tufts. Majors Month runs through Wednesday, November 20, and some events will offer raffles for prizes!

Job and Internship Search Strategies for International Students |
Join us on Wednesday, October 23, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in the Dowling Hall Milmore Room (lunch provided!) as we hear from an International Student Advisor from the Tufts International Center who will provide an overview of how to legally work in the U.S. (OPT/CPT/on campus). After that, the Tufts Career Center will show you how to conduct a successful job and internship search. We'll share optimism, practical insights, and best practices to help you navigate your career planning in the short and long term.

Challenging White Christian Nationalism: A Dinner and Discussion Series |
On Wednesdays at 7:30–8:30 p.m. through November 6 in the Tisch Library Austin Conference Room, join Protestant Chaplain Dan Bell as we reflect on Bible passages that challenge white Christian nationalism, guided by excerpts from Jim Wallis' book The False White Gospel. He will discuss his work leading innovative clean transportation projects. This talk will be livestreamed and recorded. Join Tufts Global Education on Thursday, October 24, at 6–7 p.m. in Dowling Hall Room 745A in collaboration with the School of Engineering and the Program of Italian Studies. We're offering a five-week program in Pavia, Italy, that allows students to immerse in Italian culture while earning credits in Data or Computer Science. Open to all students interested in Computer Science—no prior knowledge of Italian or Computer Science required.

This screening event and post-screening Q&A with the film's director, Erica Tremblay, via Zoom on Thursday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m. is co-sponsored by Tufts Film & Media Studies (FMS), the Indigenous Student Organization at Tufts (ISOT), and Tufts Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS). We are holding a #StopGalamsey Discussion on Thursday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall Room 306. The #StopGalamsey protests in Ghana are part of a social and political campaign designed to address the harm caused by illegal mining activities, referred to as "galamsey." Come join us in our discussion to learn more about why these protests are important and where you can learn more about how to help. Hope to see you there!

| Guest Speaker Event: David Delvalle |
Join Tufts Habitat for Humanity on Friday, October 25, at 1 p.m. for a guest speaker event featuring David Delvalle, a community organizer and advocate for criminal justice reform. David is also a leader at Haley House, an organization dedicated to fighting injustice through food and community. Come listen to David speak about his experiences with systemic injustice and its relation to housing insecurity. Free pizza will be provided for all who attend

Tufts Inclusive Education Series: Tools and Strategies for Addressing Racial Inequity |
The next Tufts Inclusive Education Series (TIES) workshop and dialogue are coming up. This workshop will equip students with the knowledge and tools needed to mitigate racial inequity. This workshop will be offered by Tufts faculty members Dr. Maritsa Barros and Dr. André Harper. Join us for the workshop and dialogue at the following times, and don't forget to register!
