Join the directors of Tufts in Hong Kong, Tufts in London, Tufts in Madrid, and Tufts in Paris on Tuesday, October 8, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Dowling Hall Room 745A to learn about semester- and year-long study abroad options for all types of engineering. This session is relevant to students in the School of Engineering and students in the School of Arts and Sciences who are interested in taking engineering classes while abroad.

| Presentation of the Book Henry Martin: An Active Ear |
On Tuesday, October 8, at 5:30 p.m. in Barnum Hall LL26, join a presentation of the book Henry Martin: An Active Ear, the first publication dedicated to the work of Afro-American writer, critic, translator, and curator Henry Martin (Philadelphia, PA 1942–Bozen/Bolzano, Italy 2022). The book is conceived as research into Henry Martin's contribution to cultural and artistic environments across Italy, Europe, and the U.S.

Join the directors of Tufts in London and Tufts in Paris on Wednesday, October 9, at 2–2:30 p.m. at the Boston SMFA Campus Room B201 to learn about semester- and year-long study abroad options studying fine arts at University of the Arts London, Paris College of Art, and Beaux-Arts. This session is relevant to BFA students, combined degree students, and any other students interested in studying fine arts abroad.

| The Sacred Waters of Blake Plateau: When Ocean Conservation Meets Cultural History |
Join us on Thursday, October 10, at 12 noon to hear from Valerie Cleland, A15 (Environmental Studies & International Relations). Valerie is a senior manager at the Natural Resources Defense Council. She will discuss why we must conserve Blake Plateau, a home to marine life and of cultural value to the Gullah/Geechee people. This talk will be livestreamed and recorded. This lecture is sponsored by Environmental Studies in collaboration with the Department of Biology and the International Relations Program.

Tufts in Chile Summer Information Session |
Join us on Thursday, October 10, at 6:30–7:30 p.m. in Dowling Hall Room 745A to learn about our new summer program in Santiago, Chile, that focuses on public health and Indigenous healthcare. No prior Spanish or Community Health background is required. The course includes seminars, field observations, and research, along with homestays and excursions to experience Chile's rich culture. A minimum 2.75 GPA and good standing are required.

Arts & Sciences First-Years and Sophomores
A&S students interested in internal transfer to the School of Engineering are invited to attend a mandatory Zoom presentation on October 9 at 12 noon–1 p.m. Applications submitted after October 15 will not be processed until mid-November. The session will be recorded for students who are unable to attend.
October 8 is the final day to DROP a course without record of enrollment for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. (First-year students have until Nov. 12.)
ES2 and CS10 exemptions exams will be offered on Wednesday, Oct 9, at 9 a.m.–9 p.m.

Save the date! The School of Engineering Majors Exploration Fair and Pizza Party will kick off Majors Month and is taking place on Wednesday, October 16, at 12 noon–1 p.m. The event will feature the EN Ambassadors, the SOE Senior Academic Advisors, a select group of EN1 Instructors and SOE Professors, the A&S Senior Academic Advisors, Representatives from the Gordon Institute and the Derby Entrepreneurship Center.

Attention seniors: Senior class portrait photographers will be on campus for portrait sittings starting Monday, October 14. Sign up now for your free portrait sitting. Taking your senior portrait on campus during this time is the only option for having your photo in the portrait section of the 2025 Senior Memory Book.

Election Day is in 30 Days – Are You Ready? |
Many Tufts students choose to vote by mail. Voting this way usually has three components:
|
- Registering to vote
- Requesting a vote by mail ballot
- Completing and returning your ballot by mail
|
Due to processing time and mail delivery, people planning to vote by mail should register to vote and request a vote by mail ballot this week.
