Join us (virtually) for Lunch!
Spend your lunch hour with us from the comfort of your home, office, or home office! On Thursday, Nov. 12 from noon-1p, we will be hosting a virtual gathering for multifamily owners, managers, and staff to:
  • Learn about the free recycling and waste reduction resources and services
  • Tell us how we can better meet your garbage/recycling needs
  • Share ideas for future collaboration
Multifamily communities* that attend will receive a $50 credit on their garbage/recycling bill as compensation for their time and participation.
RSVP to receive a Zoom link to participate from your computer or smartphone.
*Communities whose residents have their own garbage/recycling accounts will not be compensated, but are encouraged to attend and request free resources.
Planning Ahead for the Holidays
The temperatures have dropped, which means it's time to start planning for the holidays.
These simple steps can help simplify the holiday season deluge of garbage and recycling:
Service Increase - The holidays tend to produce extra waste. Ordering an additional container or extra pick up costs money, but it can save you overages and time from having to clean up overflowing bins.
Have a plan for trees - Have a designated area for residents to place trees after the holidays. And have a plan for disposal (e.g. call your garbage/recycling company or make arrangements with a local scout troop - there is usually a fee for both of these options).
Share holiday waste reduction and recycling info with residents - We're here to help!
Save $$$ with these Tips to Make your Food Last Longer!
According to the Oregon Food Bank, food assistance programs have seen a 20-60% increase in people seeking food since COVID-19 started. With many experiencing financial hardships, what better time to stretch our dollar by making our food last longer!
  • Storage - Some foods are best kept on the counter (bananas), others in a cool, dark place (potatoes), and some in the refrigerator (berries).
  • Shopping - The shopping starts before you go to the store.
    • Plan ahead, check the cabinets and fridge before going shopping, and make a list (and stick to it).
    • Look online for recipes that use the ingredients you already have or get creative!
    • Buy only what you need and will use before it goes bad.

Water Pollution Prevention - a guide for property managers
Water Pollution Prevention at Multifamily Communities
Winter is coming, and so is the rain. Property owners are responsible for maintaining storm drains and stormwater facilities on their properties. Now is the time to make sure your storm drains are clear and clean.
Need help? Clackamas County Water Environment Services (WES) Storm Drain Cleaning Assistance Program (SCAP) offers low-cost storm drain cleaning.
For more information and free technical assistance, view the flyer or contact WES at 503.742.4567.
Inclement Weather Reminder
As the temperatures drop and the weather changes, we want to remind you that garbage/recycling companies may postpone collections when weather conditions make driving hazardous. Even if your road appears clear, the large, heavy trucks may be unable to make it to your road on your collection day. Collection will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
