Those who attended the 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2018 will never forget that incredible week. Every single day was a highlight. Your current Editor attended the event as a MUDEC alumnus, before there was any inkling that I would end up working at MUDEC three months later.
One of the evening events that week was MUDEC Through the Decades, where MUDEC alumni gathered in 4 bars in the Rives de Clausen complex, with DJs playing MUDEC favorites from different decades. In addition to running into a lot of MUDEC friends, I also ran into a good number of locals who were known to hang out in the different bars where MUDECers used to go out, as well as some of their friends. One of those "friend of a friend's" was Neill Henderson, who spoke about a new Japanese ramen business that he was starting up. As you can see above, legendary official (and sometimes official) MUDEC photographer Peter Falkenburg, aka Peter Kodak, even captured the moment.
One year later, that business had started up and I decided to stop by their pop-up store to try out their ramen noodles. Not only were the noodles great, but I ran into Neill again. By that time, I was working at MUDEC and looking for companies interested in offering internships to MUDEC students. As a small start-up, MANZOKU seemed like a perfect fit, and that is exactly what happened this past semester.
