KU has a rich history in global partnerships and continues to grow its global reach in research, service, and student learning. Expanding and deepening those global connections is one of the core missions of the institution.
International Affairs can help you find your own path to making these connections. Its five area studies centers and Rachel Sherman Johnson, director of internationalization and partnerships can help you develop regional expertise and connect to potential research and teaching partners and opportunities around the world. International Affairs' study abroad office can assist you in developing a study abroad course, and its international travel funds can help support your travel for research, conferences, and partnership development. And beginning this fall, a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) manager can partner with you to internationalize your courses!

Words Heard on the Boulevard: Rock Chalk |
|
|
What is "Rock Chalk?"
You may hear "Rock Chalk" as both a salutation and as a part of our famous Rock Chalk Chant. Our chant was once referred to as the "greatest college cheer ever devised" by Theodore Roosevelt! Learn more about how the chant came about in this short video and start practicing.

Words Heard on the Boulevard: The Stacks |
|
|
| What are the stacks?
The stacks at Watson library are quite possibly one of our favorite hidden spots on Lawrence's campus. If you want to peruse an enormous selection of books, in KU's oldest and most beautiful (in our opinion) library, this is the place to explore! There are also carrels available for silent reading and study space within the stacks.

The Office of Faculty Affairs centers our work on three values: care, community, and equity.
In fulfilling our mission, we work to connect faculty to the support and resources they need throughout all stages of their career cycle. Our goal is to develop and support a dynamic faculty community that engages together to do the important work of research, teaching, and service. Additionally, we value our campus partners and their expertise as we work to deliver worthwhile opportunities for faculty to collaborate. Whether we come together for celebration, learning, or work, the outcome is always better when we are in community with one another.
