The end of the year is always an important time for reflection of everything that our community has accomplished over the previous 12 months. It's also a great opportunity to rest, reset, and prepare to do even better in the coming year. Local and global collaborations helped a group of BME Design Fellows make a low-cost, affordable, and easy-to-use screening tool for hearing loss in children.

Late in 2023, Duke Engineering launched a new Master of Engineering in Climate & Sustainability. Just a couple of semesters into the program, our students are already growing into the leaders our society needs to combat the effects of climate change.

Duke Engineering launched a new Master of Engineering in Robotics & Autonomy program that provide students with a solid foundation to immediately enter industry positions as full-stack roboticists, even if they have little or no experience with robotics coming into the program.

Duke engineers demonstrated the first fully recyclable, sub-micrometer printed electronics. The technique could impact the more than $150 billion electronic display industry and its environmental impact while providing a toehold for U.S. manufacturing to gain traction in a vital and quickly growing industry.
