The Boys Can Eat: Taste of Thai
Tucked into a West Ashley strip mall,
Taste of Thai is a surprising find that offers a relaxing and casual upscale dining experience and wonderfully fresh and flavorful food.
As an affirmed spicy food fiend, I'm a long-time fan. It is a frequent date night favorite for my girlfriend and I. Two things are certain: we share a plate of curry poppers and savory potato-stuffed dumplings with onion, curry, chicken, that are served with a sweet vinegar and shredded cabbage as well as a richer sweet and sour sauce. Cashew Chicken, Pad Thai, Pad See-Eu, Pad Kee Mow, Basil Chicken, Prik Khing and Pad Prik are all favorites.
Taste of Thai offers a wine and beer menu. Entree prices are typically around $13, so dinner for two need not cost more than forty dollars with drinks and appetizer. While some dishes are offered with an option to spice it up to a "Thai Hot" five-star heat, most combine fresh herbs, ginger, basil, nuts, and bell peppers with chicken or beef for a fragrant dish suited for those who avoid spicy foods.
