Annual Renewal Update, Chapter Event Spotlight, New Lair GM, and More!

What's New in Alumni Chapters?

Thank you for your Annual Chapter Renewal Submissions!

Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to submit your Annual Renewal Compliance Form for 2024 reporting. We are working hard to process all of the data from our 50+ chapters to make sure we have everything needed by the University of California Office of the President for chapter compliance. You will either receive an email with next steps in the coming weeks, or a formal letter acknowledging your renewed status as a CAA chapter.

We are also in the process of updating our Alumni Chapter Leader email list. If you have new board members or officers, please forward this email to them. We will have our list updated for our next newsletter.

If you have not yet submitted your chapter’s renewal documents, please do so as soon as possible or risk probationary status. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Laura Dolorfino, Associate Director of Alumni Chapters (laura.dolorfino@alumni.berkeley.edu).

Chapter Event Spotlight

Cal Black Alumni Association Hosts Inagural Black Alumni Gala & Awards Ceremony

On December 7, 2024, the Cal Black Alumni Association proudly hosted its Inaugural Black Alumni Gala and Awards Ceremony at the Henry J. Kaiser Center.

President Cheryl Wright wrote about the event saying, “This extraordinary evening highlighted the power of our collective strength and unwavering commitment to excellence, reinforcing our role in shaping the future.”

Call for Chapter Event Spotlight Content

We would love to share news of your events with other chapters and the wider community! If you would like an event featured, please fill out our Interest Form. Please note:

Limit one entry per chapter for 2025.
We will accept events that happened or will happen January – December 2025. We will only publish event spotlights after they have happened.
Do not submit Summer Welcome Parties/Picnics, as we will highlight them in a combined feature later in the year.
For a better chance of being featured, plan to have quality photos taken at the event.

Housekeeping: Events Calendar

Our staff depends on seeing your newsletters and 360alumni event postings to post event information on our events page. It typically takes us 3-5 business days to get that information posted and does not happen automatically.

If you have an event that you urgently need to get it on the website, please email chapters@alumni.berkeley.edu with “[URGENT]” included in the subject line, or call Lizz Campos Frost at 510.900.8203 to get it on the calendar.
Also make sure that chapters@alumni.berkeley.edu is on your newsletter mailing list so we see updates about your chapter!
