September Hillel Highlights

FYSH Fest
FYSH Fest, Vanderbilt Hillel’s pre-orientation program for first-year students, kicked off with a Thursday night dinner attended by more than 300 people, featuring remarks from Chancellor Diermeier. Throughout the weekend, students took part in panels, campus tours, and community-building events, culminating in a special Shabbat celebration at Acme Feed & Seed in downtown Nashville.

Senior Leadership Initiative
A group of seniors gathered together to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Our Israel fellow Bar cooked chicken sofrito and potatoes, matbucha, toasted eggplant, tahini, and our Vandy Hillel caterer Goldie's roasted vegetables and matzah ball soup. (picture above)

Tamid
Sean Ross, a business owner and entrepreneur, spoke to Tamid about the importance of networking in building a business. Tamid is a group that connects future leaders with hands on business experience in Israel. (picture above)

Challah 4 Hunger
Over 40 students gathered to bake 160 loaves. Proceeds from the bake will go toward addressing food insecurity in Nashville. (picture below)

Holocaust Lecture Series
Maud Dahme, a hidden child of the Holocaust, told her story to a group of Vanderbilt Hillel students. (picture below)
