TVA partners with Moore Tech to build workforce in underserved communities |
|
|
We celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Moore Tech Weatherization Training House in Memphis, TN on November 3rd. This event was an opportunity to celebrate our partnership with MLGW, William R Moore College of Technology, the City of Memphis, and Bicentennial Volunteers that enabled the training house to be built.
The training house is expected to train 30 technicians a year, helping them learn the skills of a contractor and qualify for higher-paying jobs in the energy and utility industry. For more info about the event and training house, please click below.

Free energy assessments now available for >5MW customers |
|
|
|
We are now offering free energy assessments to LPC-served customers greater than 5MW to help identify capital projects that may be eligible for energy efficiency incentives.
These energy assessments will help identify opportunities for large customers to optimize their energy use and offset anticipated load growth in the Valley through TVA’s energy efficiency offers, including Incentives, Strategic Energy Management and Demand Response.
The assessment will identify potential incentive-eligible projects and connect participants with members of TVA's Preferred Partners Network who can install upgrades. Areas to be explored may include lighting, compressed air systems, HVAC, refrigeration and VFDs. Energy audits are available first-come, first-served while funding remains.
If you are interested in a free energy assessment for your customers, please contact Clay Hoover (gchoover@tva.gov).

TVA can help your cities and counties apply for federal funding |
Are your city or county personnel reaching out to you with questions about IRA/DOE funding for buildings? If so, please reach out to Ruchi Singhal (rgsinghal@tva.gov) to discuss how TVA can partner to simplify the application and reporting process and maximize their investment by pairing with TVA EnergyRight incentives.

Help your business and industrial customers take advantage of HVAC incentives |
The TVA EnergyRight team has created the following tables to serve as a tool for helping customers understand which incentives they might be eligible for when working with a member of our Preferred Partners Network.

TVA EnergyRight’s Business and Industry community programs receive recognition |

We’re excited to share that our Small Business Uplift and School Uplift programs made a splash this year, winning awards from the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) and Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)!
Our School Uplift program was honored with AEE’s 2023 Central & South US Region Institutional Energy Management Award. The AEE award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing, and implementing its comprehensive energy management program, and for superior service to the Association of Energy Engineers. We are proud of the impact that our School Uplift program has on the Tennessee Valley.

|
SEEA recognized Small Business Uplift as the 2023 Luminary Award winner. This award celebrates the accomplishments of an outstanding program that has made significant strides in pursuing energy equity by sharing in the benefits and burdens of the energy transition regardless of income, race, ethnicity, gender or geographic location.
Congratulations to the Small Business Uplift team, and thank you to you, our local power company partners, and the 158 small businesses we've worked with over the last three years!

Paris BPU helps Henry County School Board receive lighting incentives |
We loved coming together with Paris Board of Public Utilities recently to recognize an impactful incentive project completed for Henry County Schools in Paris, TN. Through the help of incentives from TVA totaling nearly $50,000, the school district was able to offset the investment costs and reap the rewards of their upgrades sooner. The money received from the program will likely be used for more air conditioning units in the schools. We are thankful for your partnership!

To keep up with forecasted system growth, TVA is growing its Demand Response programs, including Interruptible Power (IP) and Peak Power Partners through Enel. Ideal IP participants are large energy users with flexible operations that can curtail to a designated level when called upon by TVA. Peak Power Partners is aimed at business customers with a contract demand of less than 5 MW who can curtail auxiliary processes such as lighting and HVAC.
If you have potential participants that you think would be interested in these programs, please contact Julie Maupin (jkmaupin@tva.gov) with their contact information or point them to our website to fill out the interest form at EnergyRight.com/business-industry/demand-response/.

We are excited to launch a new brand awareness campaign to help increase awareness of TVA EnergyRight and improve brand perception through the Valley as we ramp up our energy efficiency and demand response impacts in FY24 and beyond.

Keep an eye and ear out for the brand campaign over the radio, billboards, streaming services, and the internet.
