Spirit and Service Week at PCS (Character Day).
MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Mrs. Susan Oweis

Dear Parents,
One day, you’ll look around and realize the little hands that once reached for yours have grown, the giggles that filled your home have faded into memories, and the bedtime stories have been replaced by independence. Childhood is fleeting, and every moment with your child is a gift you can never get back. The work deadlines, the to-do lists, the distractions, they will always be there. But your child’s hand in yours? Their excitement to spend time with you? That won’t last forever. Take the time now. Play the games, have the conversations, take the trips, and be present. Because one day, they’ll grow up—and you’ll wish for just one more moment. Make the most of today while you still can.
Spring Break is a perfect time to spend quality time with your children. It is more than just a break from routine—it’s a precious opportunity for families to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories. Whether traveling to new places, enjoying simple moments at home, or embracing the beauty of the season, the time spent together is what truly matters. Set aside work to be fully present with your children. Prioritize togetherness and invest in your children. These moments—filled with love, adventure, and shared experiences—become the cherished memories that shape a lifetime.
May this Spring Break be a reminder that the greatest gift we can give one another is our time. Here’s to family, laughter, and the beautiful moments that make life truly meaningful!
Mrs. Oweis
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Olivia Marie Seaman
What grade did you start at PCS? I started at PCS in the first grade. Ms. Hinz was my teacher.

Do you have any favorite memories at school? One of my favorite memories at school would be in 1st grade when I meet my best friend. We were waiting in line and I was playing imaginary puppets with my hands and she asked to join in. We are still best friends to this day.

What's been your favorite area of study/subject?
My favorite area of study is Rhetoric 12th grade with Mrs. Smole. We have really good discussions while reading our books. I also love her humor, personality, and our book choices.  Film Class in 11th grade with Mrs. Cross was also memorable. The class was engaging and it was great acting and filming scenes.

How has PCS helped you beyond just book learning?
PCS has helped me develop leadership skills. In 11th grade I helped run Art Club and for multiple years I attended the Club as a student. Also PCS has helped me with my time management skills.

What are your thoughts about the future, college plans?
I plan to attend Virginia Peninsula Community College and then transfer to JMU and study Business.

What advice do you give to the younger students at PCS?
My advice for the younger students would be to take it easy. You don't need to figure out life at a certain age. Failure is success in progress.

What will you miss about PCS next year? I will miss my teachers next year. The teachers are so kind and helpful and I hope my college professors are the same. I will also miss my little sister who will be a Junior next year at PCS.

and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain.”
