New Ka-Band TWTAs, High-Power MPMs
Stringency on the manufacturing floor can make or break a mission-critical application. That’s why our products consistently exceed the size, weight and power (SWaP) requirements of today’s most sophisticated military electronics systems. At this year’s AOC event in Washington, D.C., we exhibited six high-powered products to showcase these capabilities:

TWTAs:
  • dB-3860 (new) – 700 Watts Peak; 34.5-35-5 GHz
  • dB-3758 (new) – 1000 Watts Pulsed, 9-10 GHz
  • dB-4410 – 300 Watts CW, 7.5-18GHz
MPMs:
  • dB-4127 – 200 Watts Pulsed/CW, 6-18 GHz
  • dB- 3758 – 1000 Watts Pulsed, 9-10 GHz
  • dB- 4118 – 75-100 Watts CW, 6-18 GHz
Cover Story: Amplifier Modules Boost 6 to 18 GHz
Did you see the November issue of Microwaves & RF (MWRF)? dB Control’s TWT amplifiers are on the cover, accompanied by a feature article written by MWRF Technical Contributor Jack Browne, who recognizes that TWTs tout some very impressive power. Here’s what he had to say:
“As some rack-mount amplifiers and amplifier modules recently released from dB Control show, TWTs and TWT amplifiers (TWTAs) still provide one of the most effective means of achieving high output-power levels at microwave frequencies—whether for continuous-wave (CW) or pulsed signal applications—and these are amplifier products that can handle the demanding conditions of shock and vibration from airborne applications….Some of these new amplifier modules are quite compact, in spite of the high output-power levels.”

New TWT Amplifier for Ground, Mobile Radar Applications
High-frequency TWT amplifiers allow greater range because they can provide the higher power required by a sophisticated radar systems. And that’s always in demand for defense and commercial applications. Our new Ka-band TWTA is specifically designed for reliable performance in extremely harsh environments and for easy field maintenance. The dB-3709i operates in the 34.5 to 35.5 GHz frequency range and provides 700 Watts minimum peak output power at a duty cycle of up to ten percent. Encased in an environmentally-sealed package, it’s designed for outdoor and antenna pedestal-mount applications, and uses integral forced air-cooling for thermal management, ensuring reliable performance. The new dB-3709i was even featured in the “Product Spotlight” in Electronic Military and Defense Magazine and the September issue of Microwave Journal. Sterns Continues dBC Track Record of Meeting Rigid Specs
As our new Quality Assurance Manager, 35-year industry veteran Robert Sterns will ensure your high-power TWTAs, MPMs and power supplies continue to meet rigid specifications for military and commercial applications.
“Our certifications and track record of new developments show we’re committed to high quality products that perform well in extremely harsh environments….Having spent years as dB Control’s quality assurance manager myself, I know Robert is the right person for the job.” said dB Control COO Gary Spaulding.
