Summer greetings! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer break.

In June our club represented in tournaments locally and around the world on turf, grass and even on the beach! Keep reading for recent successes as well as on SC Surf Soccer News. 

First summer camps completed in June with Goal Scorer's and our inaugural Lil' Surfers Summer Camps. Goal Scorer's campers learned a variety of techiques including front of goal positioning, volleys, 1:1 with goalies, finishing inside the box, expanding shooting range and striking through timing. Lil' Surfers was also a great experience for 5-6 year olds who attended led by Coach Alek working on fundamental techniques and infectious enthusiasm fostering a positive introduction to the game and passion for soccer!

Due to coaching scheduling conflicts, Surf Club Day is moving to Thursday July 24th 6:30-8pm. On 7/24, I am pleased to announce our coaching staff will be joined by Terry King, a German and English FA Tutor associated with Chelsa, Leicester and Lazio Futbol Clubs. Terry will advise and share his expertise with Surf coaches and players during regularly scheduled practice. Players and families are then invited to stay for Surf Club Day for our club-wide social event. 

In August, the annual Surf Club Players Only camp for all age groups is August 4-8. All Surf Club players are encouraged to attend this 5-day camp. Goal Scorer's for ages 7-12 and Lil' Surfer ages 4-6 are also available mid-August.

Mark your calendars August 23 and 24! The countdown is on to our own club-sponsored tournament, Surf Classic. As the tournament hosts, our club requires families to donate their time and/or resources. Details for the tournament including the volunteer sign-up schedule are forthcoming in early August.

As we look ahead to fall season, we have limited open spots on our Surf teams, We are actively recruiting for players on the Boys 2012, Boys 2013 and Boys 2018 teams.

Registration for our remaining summer camps in August available now. Our annual *CLUB PLAYERS ONLY* Camp will be held August 4-8 at Jim Johnson Memorial Park. This year's 5-day camp is led by Chris Murray, top European academy coaches from England and under the guiadance of an FA mentor and coaching educator from Leicester City.

The second full week of August will see the return of Goal Scorer's Camp (ages 7-12) and Lil Surfers Summer Camp (ages 4-6). For full details visit, click here.

In June Beach SoccerTournament play, our G2011 team was crowned beach soccer champions and G2012 were finalists at the Oceanside Beach Soccer USA Tournament.

Coach Tori also represented at the finals for the US Open Women's Division and competed in the final four of European Beach Championships in Portugal. Tori is currently in Spain competing in the top women's division.

The launch of Surf's Lil’ Surfers recreational program has been a tremendous success! Lil' Surfers is designed for 4-6 year olds giving them a fun and accelerated introduction to the game of soccer.

Returning July 8 free weekly clinics continue on Tuesdays from 2-2:45 at Jim Johnson Memorial Park through June and July. All Lil' Surfers should register once to attend the weekly clinics.

In addition to clinics, registration is now available for Lil' Surfer August Summer Camp (August 14-19). Fall Recreational Link for Lil' Surfers are coming soon.
