Energy Efficiency & Demand Management Strategy Rollout |
The TVA EnergyRight team took to the roads last month to meet with local power company representatives for a series of in-person events in each district to share our Energy Efficiency & Demand Management Strategy for FY24 and beyond. There is still time to catch our virtual session tomorrow, September 28, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm CT/ 2:00 – 4:00 pm ET for LPC representatives who may have missed the in-person events.
Amid remarkable economic and population growth in our region, a robust portfolio of energy management programs will help offset nearly 1/3 of anticipated load growth and lower peak demand over the next decade, all while partnering with you to help optimize your customers’ energy use.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the TVA team to learn about expanded energy efficiency, demand response, and clean energy programs that will be available starting October 1, 2023. Register for the virtual event below, which will be held on Microsoft Teams.

Middle Tennessee Electric Celebrates Their 100th Home Uplift!
|
On July 13th, Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), in partnership with TVA EnergyRight, celebrated the 100th home upgraded through Home Uplift in their area. Approximately 100 people attended the celebration, including members of the Tennessee House of Representatives and MTE Board. The event was a fun opportunity to hear about the direct impact of Home Uplift and to celebrate with ice cream, balloons and our EnergyRight mascot, Spark!
"I think Home Uplift is one of the best programs I've seen TVA implement because it directly impacts those who may have a hard time figuring out their energy needs," said Robert White, MTE Vice President of Member Services & Community Relations. "The folks who end up having the highest bills can't afford to upgrade their HVAC or insulation, and it's no fault of their own."
Recently, White approached his church leaders at First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro with a proposal to donate to the Home Uplift program, which resulted in a first-of-its-kind $10,000 donation.

Continuous Commissioning Pilot Launches in FY24
|
EnergyRight for Business and Industry is piloting a Continuous Commissioning© incentive for Hospitals in FY2024. The incentive is available to hospitals that hire an approved contractor to implement low and no-cost operational adjustments to their building control system. The incentive rate is $.07/kWh on first-year energy savings. This is an exciting opportunity for hospitals to earn an EnergyRight incentive without the need for capital investments. For more information, please contact Clay Hoover at gchoover@tva.gov.

| Free Compressed Air Training Available
|
A Free Compressed Air Training session will be available on October 18 and 19 for industrial customers. Compressed air systems are energy-intensive and costly, but with the right energy management practices, industries can lower costs by 15-25%. This virtual training is designed to provide industrial customers with the
guidance to do just that. Help your industrial customers realize these potential savings by encouraging them to sign up using the link below.

Save It Forward Is Renamed Strategic Energy Management |
TVA EnergyRight’s Save It Forward program is now called Strategic Energy Management. Strategic Energy Management is a two-year program that helps qualifying industrial customers increase profitability and achieve sustainability goals by reducing energy use and lowering carbon emissions. Participants still have the opportunity to "save it forward" by making a tax-deductible contribution with a portion of their energy savings.

School Uplift Is Open for Enrollment |
The School Uplift Program, which reduces participating school's energy bills by 10% on average, is a great way to engage public K-12 schools in your community. In addition to achieving significant energy cost savings, all schools that complete this program will receive grants ranging from $10,000 to $200,000 to improve the school and learning environment.
LPCs are encouraged to share a link to the School Uplift website with public K-12 STEM teachers and school personnel in their communities. After a school staff member has provided their contact information on the School Uplift website, the TVA School Uplift team will schedule a call with the school and LPC to introduce the program.

The Fast Charge Network Continues to Expand |
We recently welcomed Blue Ridge Mountain EMC, Brownsville EA, Tuscumbia Utilities Department, Paris BPU and Southwest TN EMC to the Fast Charge Network family, which now has operational sites in AL, GA, KY, MS and TN! Several LPCs are nearing the finish line with their projects. Stay tuned for more announcements coming soon!
|
| |
|
The red icons denote current gaps in the Fast Charge Network. Chargers are needed in these general areas.
|
|
Although the Fast Charge Network continues to grow with 15 operational sites and 56 contracted sites with 58 LPCs across 6 states, we still have gaps that need to be filled. If your LPC has an interstate or major highway in your service area, please consider participating in the Fast Charge Network program.
As a reminder, TVA’s Fast Charge Network has added a “second tier” of reimbursement that will still reimburse 80% of eligible costs while also increasing the reimbursement cap to $250,000 per 150+kW charger installed.

Thank You For Partnering With Us - We Have More Growing To Do!
|
Thank you for your continued partnership with TVA's Demand Response team during the summer heat. We saw a 112% performance across DR summer events and appreciate your assistance in enrolling IP Special Offer participants.
We have even more growth ahead of us and will need your support to identify potential participants for both the IP program and Peak Power Partners. Ideal participants for the IP program can provide multiple MWs per event. Peak Power Partners is aimed at business customers with a contract demand of less than 1 MW.
If you have large customers greater than 1MW of contract demand that you think would be interested in IP30 or IP5, please contact Julie Maupin at jkmaupin@tva.gov.
Demand Response enables participants to save on their power costs, keeps money in the Valley and provides system capacity. For more resources, please visit Valley Connect.
