Dear Student Affairs colleagues,
I know that for many members of our community, the last few weeks have been challenging. Again, I want to express my gratitude to each one of you for supporting our community. As we look forward to spring, here are a few things I want to highlight:
|
-
Nominations for the Excellence in Leadership Awards are open through March 22. These awards recognize the students who go above and beyond to shape our community. If a particular student comes to mind who is making an impact, please nominate them.
-
The Summer Internship Fund is now accepting applications through April 30. By providing financial support for unpaid or low-paid internships, every student has the chance to pursue their passions, regardless of their financial circumstances.
-
Well-being Wednesdays are for the entire WashU community to practice our divisional anchor of Healthy Excellence. Take a break, stop by the farmers market, and win prizes with the Check-in Challenge. If your team wants to host a table at Well-being Wednesdays or if you know of a campus partner with a well-being related initiative, please reach out to Dani Phillips.
- Our entire division has so much expertise and knowledge. Please share yours by submitting a proposal for our upcoming Professional Development Day.
|
Finally, I want to note something important for our next division meeting. During the meeting, we will be guided through strategies for supporting students in distress and how to navigate difficult conversations. These are challenging topics. I want you to care for yourselves as you engage. Please do step out if you need a moment.
I look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday, March 18. Light refreshments will be available starting at 8 a.m. and the meeting will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. in Risa Commons.
Warmly,
|
Anna "Dr. G" Gonzalez
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
