One Day Isn't Enough

I have a knack for celebrating quirky national holidays with my kids, so much so that one year my nine year old gifted me a calendar with all the national holiday dates in it. That was two years ago, and before Economic Education Month had been imagined, but last year that changed. Economic education is so important that one day wasn’t going to suffice; it commands a full month of awareness. October is Economic Education Month, and advocacy efforts are taking place across the country with Arkansas being no exception. This month we are offering almost daily training opportunities for teachers with increased incentives. We have re-launched our popular econ-inspired art competition. We have a dedicated social media campaign, and have sent Econ is Life t-shirts to our ambassadors in schools across the state. We are doing lots of things - big and small - to celebrate and advocate the work we have been doing for 60 years – bringing real life economic education into the classroom. We hope you will join us in celebrating. Find all the ways you can get involved here.

Economics Arkansas Shines Bright

Economics Arkansas shined bright this month during a 60th Anniversary celebration at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. Thank you to the many loyal friends, donors, current and former staff and board members whose attendance made the night so special. To view the 60th Anniversary video, click here.
Congratulations to Dr. Karen Walters, Superintendent of Bryant School District, who won the diamond necklace raffle drawing!

Planting the Economic Seed

The professional development training and programs of Economics Arkansas have undeniably impacted educators and students who have participated. It is our pleasure to highlight just a few of these stories in our recent 60th-anniversary publication. While the publication gives snippets, you can check out the full version of each story on our website.

TeacherTalk
"Economics Arkansas offers some of the best professional development around. Not only do we get free resources, but the resources and ideas are so applicable to real life settings. This in turn makes it so much more interesting for students."
