Abby Townsend Creates a
Paw-sitive Experience |
|
|
Abby Townsend with TSA was nominated by a PDX traveler.
“I'm training a service dog and over the past year, we have visited PDX many times for training. All of the PDX TSA staff have been wonderful – they are so helpful and understanding as I acclimate my dog to the noise and crowds of a busy airport.
Abby was especially helpful, directing me to websites and organizations that could enhance our training visits and facilitate actual flight day experiences. I consider myself so lucky to have PDX as my home airport. Thank you.”

Last Wednesday, the Port of Portland Police took part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the largest grass roots fundraiser for Special Olympics and a chance to champion acceptance and inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Known as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the opening ceremony of local competitions and into Special Olympics’ state games.
Congrats to the Port Police team for making the 2026 Special Olympics Honor Roll, thanks to their hard work collecting donations from the community and volunteering at numerous events!
