Jasper joined Amazon after more than ten years of corporate finance experience for companies in Asia and North America. He began his Amazon career as Finance Director for Amazon.co.jp in December 2000, before becoming President of Amazon, K.K. in April 2001, and being named President of Amazon, G.K. in May 2016.

Ron Sidon Awarded Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship

On April 13, 2022, Ronald Sidon (MBA '68) was recognized by the Ontario Government for outstanding contributions and was awarded the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship.
Sidon was renowned in engineering circles for his numerous inventions like Tim Horton's cream dispenser. More recently, Sidon has connected entrepreneurial students to incubator programs, helping Ontarians with disabilities with assistive technology and Tanzanians affected by drought with fresh-water projects. This past month, the School celebrated the end of the academic year with the GBC and UBS Galas featuring the announcement of the annual Teaching Excellence Award winners. Taking home first place in the graduate teaching awards was Ashley Konson, Adjunct Professor of Marketing (pictured centre). “Be curious.” Two words, one piece of advice that passionate marketers Zehra Raza (BBA ‘12) and Azim Akhtar offer Schulich students enrolled in the Master of Marketing Program. Zehra and Azim are Co-Founders of BrandCast Community, an online destination for marketing professionals. Upon learning of the new Master of Marketing at the Schulich School of Business, the first of its kind in Canada, Raza and Akhtar felt inspired to create the program’s first scholarship. Established last spring, the BrandCast Marketing Leadership Scholarship benefits an incoming Master of Marketing student who demonstrates leadership skills, innovative thinking, and academic excellence. On March 24 Dan Tzotzis (BBA '02, MBA '10), co-founder of AWAKE Chocolate was the keynote speaker for the 2022 Ernest C. Mercier Lecture in Entrepreneurial Science.
AWAKE Chocolate manufactures caffeinated premium chocolate and is available in over 20,000 locations across North America. As a multi-million-dollar brand, AWAKE Chocolate was featured as NBC News Top 24 Most Innovative Consumer and Retail Brands and was also pitched on season 7 of Dragon's Den.

| RBC-Schulich Enterprise Forum Explores Global Digital Opportunities

The Centre for Global Enterprise (CGE) at Schulich hosted its 7th annual RBC Schulich Enterprise Forum on April 28. The virtual event titled "Going Global in a Digital Age" brought together alumni, students, academics and business leaders together to examine how Canadian businesses are using digital technologies and platforms to grow their businesses internationally. “The intangible economy, based on digital technology, is increasingly a driver of enterprise value” said Douglas Kennedy (MBA '82), RBC Managing Director at the CGE.
