Rupy Sawhney, professor and Heath Faculty Fellow in Business and Engineering in UT’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering
Keen to build partnerships in Central Asia, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor Rupy Sawhney turned to UT’s Center for Global Engagement (CGE) to explore opportunities. Working with CGE staff, Sawhney was able to develop a series of collaboration-building workshops with the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology in Uzbekistan, funded by the US Embassy there and administered by the American Council for International Education.

The University of Tennessee Institute of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (IAMM) is piloting a series of workshops around research related to advanced materials and manufacturing. The first workshop on quantum materials is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
