Rupy Sawhney, professor and Heath Faculty Fellow in Business and Engineering in UT’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering

Keen to build partnerships in Central Asia, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor Rupy Sawhney turned to UT’s Center for Global Engagement (CGE) to explore opportunities. Working with CGE staff, Sawhney was able to develop a series of collaboration-building workshops with the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology in Uzbekistan, funded by the US Embassy there and administered by the American Council for International Education.

University of Tennessee students exhibited creativity designing floating wetlands

The University of Tennessee Institute of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (IAMM) is piloting a series of workshops around research related to advanced materials and manufacturing. The first workshop on quantum materials is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Bogdan Dryzhakov, a graduate student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was recently selected for the US Department of Energy’s Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program.

CHINA Town Hall connects leading China experts with Americans around the country for a national conversation on the implications of China’s rise on U.S.-China relations and its impact on our towns, states, and  nation.

For two decades, Dayakar Penumadu has been instrumental in advancing a r esearch community he calls the "innovation ecosystem." He and his team are refining the materials of the future by developing next-generation fiber-reinforced composite materials.
