U of A students at Young Life College Weekend
Friends,
Friday evening, around 6:00, cars full of college students left Faytteville to spend a weekend at Clearwater Cove. They had barely left the parking lot berfore conversations started--not just inane conversations but signifiant ones, eternal ones.
Most of the college students going had questions about what it means to follow Jesus. Their Young Life leaders have spent the semester with them, engaging them in life and in their wrestling with life, and many were ready to hear the truth of the gospel. Some met Jesus for the first time; others are still processing what they heard and are hearing from their leaders.
Please pray for our college friends. Pray that they see the light of truth in Jesus. For those who are just starting their relationship with him, pray for their protection and growth. And pray for our leaders to persist in the face of their own crazy schedules.
Every week I see our young people struggle with an anxiety about their world that seems to be escalating before my eyes. And every week my conviction grows that it is for us to go to them and show them that the only secure way to face this ever-changing world is to trust THE Way.
Thank you for helping us point them to Jesus.
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus, answered, "I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:5-6)
