Dear Member of the Class of 2024,
The Fall 2020 semester at the University of Notre Dame will soon conclude. While this semester is undoubtedly regarded as the most distinguished academic term of recent history, it will also soon be remembered as the Class of 2024's first semester as members of this community. Above all the changes and challenges to the typical life of this incredible campus, this semester's distinction as your first step into a new scholarly and transformational journey is perhaps most important.
As the end of the semester draws near, there will be various demands of your time and attention, some of which are outlined in the paragraphs below. The importance of thoughtfully preparing for final examinations and Spring 2021 course registration procedures should not be understated. However, while diligent completion of all end-of-term tasks holds great saliency, we invite you to celebrate this milestone as well. You have journeyed these weeks through unanticipated and often arduous paths, and you've done so with grace, patience, a love for one another, and a commitment to excellence. You give new life to the story of the Fighting Irish. The Center for University Advising enthusiastically joins you in preparing for the next stage of your scholarship. And, especially at this moment, we celebrate the transformational ways in which you've already made this incredible journey your own.

MAJOR DISCERNMENT AND SPRING REGISTRATION
In order to help you prepare for Spring course registration on December 9th, your First Year Advisor would like to know a little more about where you are in the major discernment process. Below is a link to a questionnaire with a few questions about your major and minor plans. It will only take you two to three minutes to complete.
The questionnaire also includes a link to the 2021 Spring Registration Guide. The goal of the guide is to provide you with information on First Year, Core, and Major requirements. The guide will also walk you through the class search process in NOVO.
After class search goes live on Monday, November 9th, the Center for University Advising will send you details on how to access the registration planner which you will use to register for Spring classes. In the meantime, your advisor will be in touch to provide more specific information on college and major requirements. Be sure to complete the brief discernment survey questionnaire below!
