Professional and Faculty Development by the Numbers
During the 2025-26 academic year, the Office of the Provost hosted 310 hours of workshops, institutes, monthly programs, communities of practice, new faculty social events, and more, which were attended by almost 2,000 faculty and staff members. Some highlights this year included the new 5-part series on How the University Works, and the addition of the Big Ten Academic Alliance leadership programs.

Faculty and graduate employees across schools and colleges connected with the Teaching Engagement Program this year to:
Consult one-on-one about their teaching (over 200 consultations)
Attend one or more of TEP's 74 campus-wide teaching workshops (or one of the dozens of additional workshops conducted for individual schools and colleges)

Starting July 1, UO Dropbox users will receive a baseline amount of 2 TB of individual storage for free, which can be increased for a yearly fee through team storage. That 2 TB baseline accommodates the vast majority of users—so nearly everyone can simply keep using Dropbox as they do today. These updates were announced last spring as part of the UO’s digital storage transformation. Explore UO’s evolving storage options with the Data Storage Finder.
Provost Chris Long has encouraged all faculty to prepare digitally accessible course syllabi for fall. Find guidance for how to meet this goal on the Teaching Support and Innovation website.
Join the Summer Week of Writing and Writing Circles
Consider signing up for one of this summer's writing circles, which begin June 22 and continue through August. Write in fellowship with colleagues from across the university as you make progress in the projects that are most important to you. Alternatively, consider joining the Week of Writing June 16-18, with both in-person and virtual options available. Faculty, OAs, and post-doctoral fellows may participate.
