Students Speak Committee Members Needed
Every year, the Center for Research and Service conducts the Students Speak Survey, a tool to collect data from students about their experiences. As a part of this project, a committee of student volunteers from both Mies and Conviser Law Center (downtown) campuses is formed to develop and administer the survey. This committee is responsible for identifying areas to be surveyed, generating survey questions, advertising, collecting responses, and presenting the results to the university leadership (president, provost, vice provosts, and department directors). We are looking for students who are interested in volunteering as committee members! If you are interested in being a Students Speak committee member, email Make your voice heard!
Application Deadlines for Spring 2022 Internships
International students who are interested in pursuing full/part-time for-credit internships for spring 2022 must submit their Career Practical Training (CPT) applications to the International Center, after being approved by their academic advisor and the Stuart Career Management Center (CMC). The following deadlines apply for a guaranteed start date for the internship of Monday, January 10.
  • Tuesday, December 14: Last date to submit your CPT application to your academic advisor
  • Thursday, December 16: Last date to submit your CPT application to the CMC
  • Monday, December 20: Last day to submit your approved CPT application to the International Center for
    a guaranteed internship start date of January 10

Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshop for International Students
The International Center will host a virtual informational workshop on the Optional Practical Training (OPT) process on Thursday, December 2, at 12:45 p.m. CST. All (F-1) international students (graduate and undergraduate) interested in OPT should attend to learn about the application process, regulations and expectations, employment reporting, and more. Global M.B.A. Summit on Climate, Capital, and Business
ClimateCAP, the Global M.B.A. Summit on Climate, Capital, and Business, is an annual event that brings M.B.A. students and industry leaders together to learn what every M.B.A. needs to know about the business implications of climate change. The 2022 summit will be hosted by the Kellogg School of Management on Friday–Saturday, February 25–26, at the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Illinois. ClimateCAP connects today’s and tomorrow’s business leaders to assess how climate change is shaping industries and markets, leaving students equipped and empowered to anticipate climate risks and opportunities. Greenwood Project Internships for Black and Latinx Students
The Greenwood Project creates career pathways in the financial services industry for Black and Latinx students. Students receive four weeks of intensive, skills-based training to prepare them for guaranteed, six-week internships at Greenwood Project’s partner firms. Both the training and the internship are paid experiences. The program also includes daily Lunch and Learns, networking sessions, and extensive mentorship opportunities. ASPA Founders’ Fellows Program Accepting Applications
The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Founders’ Fellows program supports the next generation of public service leaders through a series of professional development opportunities. The fellowships include guaranteed acceptance to present their research at ASPA’s 2022 Annual Conference, a year-long mentorship, and professional improvement webinars. Fellowships are open to graduate students and new professionals in the first three years of their public service career. Apply by Tuesday, November 30. Information and application.
Summer 2022 Climate Corps Fellowships
Climate Corps is a fellowship program of the Environmental Defense Fund that places graduate students with leading organizations to advance energy management and sustainability solutions during the summer. Climate Corps fellows design tools and recommendations to accomplish emission reduction goals by reducing energy consumption, procuring renewable energy, electrifying fleets, and engaging suppliers on emissions reduction strategies.
