The stars aligned on Saturday, April 5, 2025 as 450 guests gathered to celebrate community and philanthropy at the 30th annual Stars Over TMI gala and auction. Together, our TMI community raised over $500,000 for TMI.
Over $340,000 of the proceeds from Stars Over TMI, our school’s largest fundraising event, will benefit our annual giving program that supports academics and student activities, professional development, technology, safety & security, campus beautification, classroom improvements, and more. Thank you to all of our sponsors, underwriters, supporters, and volunteers of the gala and auction for your incredible generosity.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who supported our Fund-a-Need auction, as $200,800 of the total amount raised during Stars Over TMI will be used toward our athletic capital campaign that includes updating the scoreboards at our baseball, softball and multi-purpose fields. We especially want to recognize the generosity of TMI Grandparents Maggie & Gary Klenzing, TMI Parents Rose & John Raimondo, and TMI Parents Katherine & Ryan Thompson for each contributing $50,000 toward the brand new scoreboards. A HUGE thank you to Texas Regional Bank (TRB) who has also generously donated to TMI toward a brand new scoreboard for Howell Field.

Upon arrival, guests at the event received complimentary valet, sponsored by The Patel Lopez Family Foundation, and were escorted by members of the Texas Military Institute Corps of Cadets into the luxurious San Antonio Ballroom at the La Cantera Resort & Spa. As guests mixed and mingled during the cocktail hour, beautiful décor that was made possible through the generosity of the event’s Decor Underwriting Sponsors, Denny’s Restaurants, The Lafreeda Family, set the mood for a fun evening. Beverage stations sponsored by Crossroads Saloon & Steak House, Maggie’s at the Emigrant Hotel, Erin and Preston Hall and Thompson Law LLP, a selfie photo booth, and auction displays, including a 130’ LED display sponsored by Data Projections, Inc., highlighting this year’s unique class experience packages, Super Silent Auction items and live auction packages.
Back again was the ever popular Mystery Grab Bag Game sponsored by Ollabelle Hall. As part of this FUNdraising game, guests purchase a chance to win a prize of significant value inside their bag. To play, the participants selected a beautiful, monogrammed TMI canvas tote bag, donated by Land's End, with speciality items enclosed. While every bag included a bottle of spirits, and TMI swag sponsored by Swag Your Brand and TMI Parents Erin and Preston Hall, each bag was also filled with a unique set of mystery items, that possibly included a set of Beats headphones, an Apple Watch, Airpods, gift cards and more. The one-of-a-kind bags at Stars Over TMI included an assortment of prizes ranging in value to include items donated by Ana Maria & Matt Andersen, Lisa & Chuck Harthan, Katherine & Marc Menkemeller, Aurora Sanchez, Scooter’s Coffee, Chrissy & Will Steele, and William Chris Wine Company.
