New Fundraising Guide »In partnership with Edco, we’ve created your go-to guide to fundraising for speech and debate teams. It covers constructing your narrative, budgeting and funding, raising money from different sources, hosting events, and getting press coverage. We’ve also included ways to get support from your school and district, plus examples, templates, and other resources! Check it out here.
2017 Education Conference » We can’t wait for our inaugural National Education Conference dedicated to speech and debate in Denver, Colorado! Start planning to join us August 24-27 for knowledge sharing and networking while earning professional development hours! Early bird pricing for members runs through March 3. Interested? Take it up a notch and apply to present at the conference! We’d love to hear you share your strategies. Submissions are due November 1. Visit our conference page to learn more!
Updated Unified Manual »The Board of Directors made important updates to the Unified Manual during the fall meeting. Take a moment to look through the changes, marked in yellow here.

Speech & Debate Activity Fair » Students at Archbishop Mitty High School kicked off their season with “Mitty Speech and Debate Day” for parents and students at the school. The team set up booths for each competition event and attendees had the opportunity to learn about events, meet the team, see performances, and hear how students can get the most out of the program. The day ended with the parents of more than 140 students taking part in a judge training session. We love this idea and think it would be a great way to expand a team, hold a fundraiser, or involve the community! Do you have a story you’d like to share?
